Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son?

Student : Yes, sir.

Professor : So, you believe in GOD?

Student : Absolutely, sir.

Professor : Is GOD good?

Student : Sure.

Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL?

Student : Yes.

Professor : My Brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to
help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent)

Professor : You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is GOD Good?

Student : Yes.

Professor : Is Satan good?

Student : No.

Professor : Where does Satan come from?

Student : From...GOD...

Professor : That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World?

Student : Yes.

Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And GOD did make everything. Correct?

Student : Yes.

Professor : So who created evil?

(Student did not answer)

Professor : Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they?

Student : Yes, sir.

Professor : So, who created them?

(Student had no answer)

Professor : Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe The World around you. Tell me,
son...have you ever seen GOD?

Student : No, sir.

Professor : Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?

Student : No, sir.

Professor : Have you ever Felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any
Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter?

Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.

Professor : Yet you still believe in HIM?

Student : Yes.

Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist.
What do you say to that, son?

Student : Nothing. I only have my Faith.

Professor : Yes, Faith. And that is the problem Science has.

Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?

Professor : Yes.

Student : And is there such a thing as Cold?

Professor : Yes.

Student : No, sir. There isn't...

(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events)

Student : Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat,
Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458
Degrees below Zero
Which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that.
There is no such thing as Cold.
Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat.
We cannot Measure Cold.
Heat is Energy.
Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.

Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as
Darkness?

Professor : Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness?

Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of Something.
You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light...
But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and its
Called Darkness, isn't it? In reality, Darkness isn't. If it is,
You would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you?

Professor : So what is the point you are making, young man?

Student : Sir, my point is, your Philosophical Premise is flawed.

Professor : Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue
There is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD. You are
Viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure.

Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and
Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.

To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that
Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing.
Death is Not the Opposite of Life, just the Absence of it

Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from
a Monkey?

Professor : If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process,
yes, of course, I do.

Student : Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the
argument was going)

Student : Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at
work and Cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavor,
Are you not teaching your Opinion, sir?
Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?

(The Class was in uproar)

Student : Is there anyone in the Class who has ever seen the
Professor's brain?
(The Class broke out into laughter)

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's
brain, felt it, touched or smelt it?...
No one appears to have done so.
So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable
Protocol, Science says that you have No Brain, sir. With all due respect,
sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The Room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face

Professor : I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son.

Student : That is it sir...Exactly!

recently i've been mediating on 2 verses from the bible. i hope it encourages you.

Mat 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

i admit i was pretty lost over the 1st half of year 2010. simply roaming around doing things i've never think i would have done or accomplish. majority being negative and wordly.

rest assure its the past, i'm back :)

a few things that i've wanted to focused on

1. Cell Group
2. Security
3. Work

i always wanted to rise up in the cg ministry. many times when things are going well and i do alot for cg, somehow some tough situation will come along and sweep me away. happened so many times, not gonna let it happen again!

sometimes i wonder why, i can't really speak well, alot of times i talk people dun understand, or dun listen. haha. lets not talk about preaching.. sometimes i share offering ppl also dunno what i'm trying to say. AWESOME!

but i'm learning to love ppl, still not wanting to give up YET. not yet!

someone once said that maybe its because i'm nt serving God, thats why all those random depressing stuffs are happening in my life. which could be true, that was the main reason why i chose to start serving in security ministry.

up till today, i realise i've learn much, about the ministry, and alot about myself. i'm happily serving with a smile =D wanna join security? yes we need u! JOIN!!!

well lastly being work. customer service is draining, really draining, VERY DRAINING! i smile like crazy, so much that the smile remains with me like all the time? hoho. challenging at first, it has since become pleasurable and satisfying when i see ppl smiling back at me, thanking me for great and polite service. that is shoik! but well, i've yet to meet angry and shouting customers. thank God! but i know i can be better!

i use to 'run' away from certain people or situation. but this verse kept me along.

i then applied for a study grant in my company, it is worth $8000. sure took them awhile to approve man.. for weeks i was praying, confessing phil4:19 wherever i go, it was actually my wallpaper on the iphone. hoho. and God is really good!

LAST WEEK IT GT APPROVED!! SIGNED THE OFFER 2 days ago. grinning from ear to ear. hehe.

God will never shortchange us.

i believe it is out of the giving from so many years, God is indeed my provider! and i'm sure He would love to bless u too! ha

Don’t Grieve The Holy Spirit

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30

In the Scripture, the Holy Spirit is often likened to a dove. The dove is known as a bird of peace and it is extremely sensitive to anything that disrupts the serenity of its environment. That is why doves are often found beside still waters. The Holy Spirit is easily grieved and chased away by sin, rebellion, disobedience, complaining, and wrong attitudes.

The Holy Spirit abides upon the life of a believer who is at peace with God and who has the righteousness and holiness of God worked out in his life. How not to grieve the Holy Spirit? The answer is given in Ephesians 4:31, “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.” Here, we see the ugliness of the old man that puts off the Spirit of God:

(1) Bitterness—the longstanding resentment in a person’s heart. Bitterness often enters into a person’s heart when he has been wronged and betrayed. Disappointing circumstances can also cause bitterness. The terrible thing about bitterness is that it not only affects the one who is bitter and tormented by it, but it also defiles and affects others. To overcome bitterness, you need to develop a holy acceptance of all situations and a forgiving spirit.

(2) Wrath—hot anger or passion. It is a very intense form of anger. Wrath burns like fi re within the breast of a person, but it has the habit of subsiding just as quickly as it was stirred up. It can only be cooled by not meditating upon the person who has offended you.

(3) Anger—a strong feeling of hostility. Paul is not speaking here of the godly anger against sin (4:26), but anger that is one of the works of the fl esh. A person becomes angry when he does not get his own way and often fl ies into a temper tantrum. The antidote to anger is a submissive spirit.

(4) Clamor—a propensity to shout loudly or to create an uproar because of a controversy or dispute. The antidote is to major on the peace of God.

(5) Evil speaking—this refers to insulting language. Let us esteem others better than ourselves, and speak respectfully of them.

(6) Malice—the desire to harm others or to see them suffer. A person with malice is vicious and seeks to harm others. The antidote to malice is to seek the best for others. The attitudes mentioned above will surely grieve the Holy Spirit. The attributes that will attract the Holy Spirit are being “kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you” (4:32).

some truths about the devil

while showering aft coming home from losing my iphone, i was in deep thoughts and realise many truths about the ultimate liar.

1. when we do nothing for God, satan do nothing to us.

the whole time i was serving ns for the previous 2 years, live was mundane and simple, living in my super comfort zone, i nv felt much of oppression from the devil. that was how i lived for the 1st part of 2009 as well.

2. when we start to do things for God, satan does everything to stop us.

the end of 2009 was when i finally chose to rise up and serve God, it was also when i met all the greatest challenges in my life. bad time @ work, bad time in the cell grp, not exactly a good time with the one i love. every step i take was pure agony, i believed in many lies of the devil then, often living in condemnation and misery, not being able to live, or love anybody. it was a trying time.

until today, satan is still at work in my life, trying to pin me down with every chance he has. i feel so hard pressed, even till today. i hate to lose things, and i dun plan to lose anything that is close to my heart, that includes my iphone. yet it was gone at work, when i went to buy tidbits. wow?
i emo-ed on the way home, expecting judgement from my family members, wondering if this was the work of God.

But God is good, my sis offered help to get me a new iphone, ka-ching! and my mum even bought me some long que nasi lemak from boon lay market. woohoo?

2009 has been a quite a special year, it simply gets tougher as the month goes by. the start was so relaxing, but the end, proves very much to be a huge struggle, even as i head into 2010. but well, we all know that pictures speaks louder then words. here goes my short summary of year 2009 =D

The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious, but the lips of a fool shall swallow him up. Ecclesiastes 10:12

Solomon, having shown the benefit of wisdom and of what great advantage it is to us, exposes the folly of a fool here in Ecclesiastes 10.

(1) Fools talk a great deal with no purpose. They show their folly by the multitude of their words. The words of a fool not only expose him to ridicule, but also bring him to ruin. Adonijah foolishly spoke against his own life (1 Kin. 2:23).

(2) Fools have little control over their emotions. Ecclesiastes 10:13 states, “The words of his mouth begin with foolishness, and the end of his talk is raving madness.” The fool speaks foolishness and ends up in great anger and fury. No one seems to be able to talk sense to him.

(3) Fools never know when to stop talking. Ecclesiastes 10:14 says, “A fool also multiplies words. But to learn, you must be willing to be taught. Therefore, if you want to be wise and drive foolishness away; then as children, submit to your parents, listen to them and honor them. As believers, submit yourselves to your spiritual leaders so that they may train you to be a true disciple of Christ (13:17).

hi guys. i haven been posting much for the past month for the following reasons.

been sick, had fever 3 weeks ago, took me almost 1 week to fully recover.
coughing like mad, makes it hard to type, but i'm fine now.
NDP trainings make me sleepy when i reach home.
i'm abit moodless. stress. hah

yey. my thoughts now.

NDP 09

it took around 4 mths to train for this event. my thoughts, feelings and motivation varies throughout all these time. it was exciting at the start, and really tough, my slim arm couldn't take the weight of the flag, big time. standing under the sun for long hours wasn't what i foresee, felt like fainting, thirsty always, just so tiring. i end up with stiff neck, shoulder and painful biceps after each and every training.

3 training a week was alright until saf day kicks in, mon, wed, fri, and sat training every single week. i was starting to miss my own CG and SVR. horrible time, the worst actually. i started to be less motivated. just float around with the crowd. started some own training, lifting weights back in bunk. still nt v serious though. SAF day marks the start of really slack training.
1mth left to NDP, 2 trainings per week, still my weekend got burnt, i often ask myself why i got myself into this. hoho. my weekday off that covered the weekend burn wasn't that satisfying after all. kinda endured. did more strength training at home now, i actually used the dumbell and held it in saluting position. conditioning so that i won't gabra on the actual day.

3 weeks left. did a few shows for the kids already, not much response from the crowd. a lil less motivated once again. just happy to see ppl around thats all. by the time we did preview, the trainers felt we were ready for NDP 09. good job. times flies though, kept looking around for photos online. hah
NDP09! everyone around me were much more excited then myself. lol. i felt normal, many who saw me ask me to jiayou blah blah. i was like.. err. ok. chill.. haha. wore my contacts for the first time for the afternoon run, 1 side dropped out, i took out the other, can't see nothing anymore. Z!

my NDP experience? went on with the parade, in full view of all the cabinet ministers and the president, but I CAN'T SEE FOR NUTS! lol. what chance, and what a great miss. doesn't matter. its over! the 3.2km march was great, lined up with crowds, relatively quiet ppl though, the usual random shouts kept us going. haha.

in the end, I'm just happy to do a job well done. it was fun marching and meeting ppl from various units. we make it happen eh? cheers!

had a great time at FOP this year, i felt much less sleepy during the praise and worship. haha. was seated at the floor area once again! woohoo. i love the message that Pst Mark Connor shared, i wish i had time for more sessions. just 1 pic to share

some changes to NDP training on the weekends, we have shifted to the actual location at marina floating platform! majority of the place is still under construction, but from the skeletal frame, the stage should look spectacular when its done up.

and guess where is our holding area? the F1 pit! right beside the singapore flyer. quite a good place for dating. quite and nice lightings. look at the photo above, that would show the route that the marching contigents would be travelling on during the NDP. a 3.2km city march to showcase ourselves. hah. make sure u watch NDP 09!

the thing i love the most is actually the sponsors.. not only do we get KFC for lunch every single time, we also have a few others! first is the usual MILO truck, drink till u drop. lol. then comes the MR BEAN! free flow soyabean milk. ^^ and lastly, OLD CHANG KEE!!! curry puffs etc FREE!!! haha. getting fat already.

so much about the ndp updates.

yet because of the training, my saturdays are all gone, i haven seen my usual grp of frens for at least 1.5mths already. losing touch really. filtering process? i dun really know. i would want love to spend more time in church really. can't wait for NDP to be over, can't wait for september to come and ORD in peace... move on move on!

life has been pretty much the same for the past month, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday are the days of NDP training, left with 1 weekday off and Sunday for myself only. its amazing that i've been though 1/3 of the entire training program, and somehow i'm still feeling fresh! just happy to be there marching around with the flag i guess. compared to all the boring and mundane life in camp usually. i'm suppose to look really nice and cool coming so far in the training. but guess what.

been feeling the same way for the past 2 days.. the heat coming out from my ears, the inability to hear properly, dry throat, mind block, extremely easily irritated soul. feverish is all i felt.. argh. i feel the pain.

despite that, i went home almost every single day, ate the swensen's fondue (which made the fever worst =x , saw the X-men movie!

its a story about..

a young man who ran around naked. lol. just joking, thats 1 part of the story. v interesting show, watch it even if u have no idea what X-men is all about.

the fast times

the previous 2 weeks were toturing. the lack of sleep, maximum amount of work and lack of motivation kinda killed me. but i'm happy to say that i overcomed and survived the 5 day outfield last week. the last 2 days were fun really, when i finally had the chance to slack and cook some stuffs with the men of my platoon. i realise the esprit de corp, the brotherhood that was formed between the 21 of them. amazing feeling.

for me, i took on a job of someone of a higher rank, basically i made a fool out of myself for 1.5 weeks. this is an amazing feeling too, when finally in the end i get to see the big picture, the way to really fight as a battalion.

and my last conclusion: war is tiring! peace alrite?

this week passed really slowly, everyone were just focused on the handing over of duties, half the people are ORD-ing already!!!!!! and i still have 5 mths to go.. argh! can't wait for that faithful day to come really. where the bondage is teared opeN!!!

for now. guess i'll just continue to be the weird officer that i'm.
